Named after the French word for “cashew,” Cajou is a Miniature Australian Shepherd with an adventurous spirit, a love of the outdoors, and seemingly endless enthusiasm for playtime with friends. Whether he’s exploring somewhere new, chasing butterflies, or simply soaking up the sunshine, Cajou is happiest being part of whatever is going on.

A true globe-trotter, Cajou has travelled across continents—from England and France to Canada and the United States. Beaches, city streets, woodland trails, long road trips, and cozy cabin stays have all been part of his story. His adventures have also helped shape his resilient spirit. After working through challenges with anxiety, he continues to grow in confidence, learn new skills, and take on new experiences—including agility training.

As a service dog, adventure companion, and constant presence in everyday life, Cajou has naturally influenced Paw & Perch. Living, travelling, playing, and exploring with him has shaped the way we think about the products we choose: how they function in real life, how thoughtfully they are designed, and whether they genuinely add something to the lives pets and their people share.
